Wrong Foot

Ever have one of those days where you wake up in a bad mood? My day started off on the wrong foot fighting with my daughter to clean her room and of course by the time she was done we were running late for school. I hate being rushed I always get so flustered and my Patience goes out the window. On the way home I had to stop at the store and as I was walking down one of the isle's I found some silk rose petals and thought they would be really pretty dipped in my clear soap so I threw them in my shopping cart. Once I finally got back home I cranked up the music, closed my eyes and cleared my head of everything I just listened to the music. I may have danced around a little bit too! Once I was in my happy place I got to work. I started out by scenting my soap base with a fresh cut rose scent and then I dipped the rose petals in the base. They turned out really cool! I'm going to package them in a pillow box so that you can put them in your purse that way next time when your at a public restroom and they're isn't any soap you'll be taken care of with these cute single use disposable soap petals. Even though my day got off to a bad start I still managed to get all my work done and I was inspired to create a new product for my shop. I also got some good news today, one of my soaps was featured on http://thesoapseduction.blogspot.com/ this past weekend. I thought that was so nice of her to feature one of my soaps. You should definitely check out her blog along with her etsy and a artfire shop. I also got invited to do a craft show in march. I hope tomorrow starts off better and I can't wait to see what I will be inspired to create. My only advice for today is that your day is never as bad as what you think it is. Sometimes you just need stop what you are doing and be spontaneous.

Crank up the music, sing, dance, laugh, cry, whatever it takes just get it out and have fun, nobody needs to know but you!

Getting Older

I'm not an old lady by far but this morning while taking all my vitamin supplements I was reminded that I'm not as young as I once was and that I sometimes get so caught up in my own little world that I forget to stop and enjoy my youth. I'm the kinda of person that wakes up each morning with a plan and I'm not satisfied until everything I set out to do is done. I guess that's not really a bad thing but before I know it some nice young man is going to be helping me cross the street and calling me mam. My point is that it's okay to work hard to achieve your dreams but don't forget to enjoy the trip along the way. Here is a quote I found that I think pretty much sums it up "By the time we've made it, we've had it." Malcolm Forbes, The Capitalist Handbook. Getting older was my inspiration for the day so I created a new soap that I'm thinking I'll call Youth In A Bar? not sure on the name yet. You can comment below on the name I was also thinking of calling it Fountain Of Youth or Young And Beautiful. To create this soap I combined the scents of our youth, cotton candy, bubble gum, lemon drops, and lots of sugar I then colored it a beautiful teal color. I love how this bar turned out and it smells sooo!! Yummy!! It takes me back to the days of innocence. I don't have this one in my shop yet but it should be there tomorrow. Well that's all I got for now an my little pearl of wisdom for today is don't get too caught up in your everyday routine you have to take time to stop and enjoy your youth because before you know it when you look in the mirror old age will be staring back at you!
Your only young once!

Inspiration

Okay, I'm just getting started with this blog but my goal is to share my thoughts and ideas with other creative people. I find that there is inspiration all around us we just need to open our eye's and let the creativity flow. I come up with all kinds of wacky ideas some good some not so good but none of my ideas are ever bad because I learn from them so I know what to do differently next time. My specialty is bath and body products and I love what I do. It's amazing the things you can create from soap. Just the other day I was inspired at the grocery store by a very yummy looking lemon meringue pie. So I went home and made lemon meringue soap and it turned out so cute I love it! Today I was inspired to make enchilada's for lunch but I'm pretty sure that would not make a good soap. I mean really who would want to smell like an enchilada? I posted a pic of my yummy lemon meringue soap. Enjoy! That's all for this post and remember to keep your eyes open and listen to that little voice in your head you never know what creative idea is lurking just around the corner.
